What’s Your Movement About?

This past weekend, I attended a 3-day coaching program, which after 3 years of participating in the event, continues to stimulate me to action and to truly live my life.  Bill Baren’s Big Shift Experience is the real deal.  I am grateful to Bill and his team.

Bill reminds us (me) that we all have responsibilities.  Each one of us is responsible for doing our part to change the world.  He asked, “so, what is your movement about?”.  And I am reminded of mine this morning as I prepare to serve.

 To make it easier for my  clients in organized real estate to conduct business and make money.  

There are many layers, but it’s really pretty simple.

To my tribe – you are the leaders of the movement that is taking shape for Realtor Associations and MLSs.  Everyone is watching – your members, your staff, consumers, the media.  You help run a one trillion dollar business.  What is your vision for the future of real estate?

What is your role in the movement?  What are your doing right now?

I recently spoke to about 500 Association Executives, industry vendors and others who are all in a position to lead and shape the future of MLS. I told it like I see it – bold and for some, inspiring.  I tell the truth. The industry is stuck and it’s time to change it.  It’s up to each of us and it is time for some of you to join the movement. For the rest, you will manage your decline and that of your association by sitting still this year.

So the world is watching. So many people get it.  The leaders of some big companies GET IT.  So many of you who are running associations and MLSs GET IT too. I know that you know.  But you are stuck right? Organized real estate is stuck and it’s not your fault.

The movement is not easy.  If it were easy, everyone would have done it a long time ago. You get it but you don’t know what to do or HOW.

I know that 900 MLSs are no longer sustainable.  Do you know this to be true?  Is it really true?

So what will you do?  Today for me, I will do my part on behalf of 8 Realtor associations in Washington who serve 3,000 members every day.  Their vision is to create a:

 “A bigger and better MLS that is Realtor owned.  One that makes it easier for their members and the buyers and sellers whom they serve”

 

It is their vision.  My role, my movement and the reason I am here is to teach them and show them HOW to do it.
